Do I have to live in Camarillo to get a library card?

No.

The Camarillo Public Library participates in universal borrowing, which according to the California Library Services Act, means "the extension by a public library of its direct loan privileges to the eligible borrowers of all other public libraries."

Anyone who has acceptable identification as outlined in our registration policy will be eligible to create their first library card for free.

After the first library card has been created, replacements for lost or damaged cards can be purchased for $1.

You can register for a card online; however, your permanent library card will not be issued until you come in person with a photo ID (or until a permission form is filled out and a parent or legal guardian's ID is presented for a minor applicant).
