How do I place a hold on an item?

1. Search for items in the library catalog.

2. Once you have located the item you want, click on "Place Hold" (to the right of the entry on a desktop computer or below the entry on a mobile device).

If you are not logged in to the library catalog, you will be prompted to sign in with your barcode/username and your PIN. Your barcode (library card number) is found on the back of your card, and your PIN by default is the last four digits of your phone number. 

3. On the next screen, click "Submit Request."

4. You should then see a confirmation that your hold request has been placed.

5. Once your item is ready for pickup, you will receive a notification by email, text message, or phone call, depending on which notification method you selected when your library card was created. The item will be held for up to seven business days.
